Favourite urban spot
8 o’ clock in the morning, park your bike on the Parvis de St Gilles. Cross the daily market with its usual clothes, vegetables and Spanish cheese. Buy a croissant or two and go on the other side of the Parvis: direction ‘Café de l’Union’.
Mystical football team of Brussels for some (‘Bossemans en Coppenolle’,… any memory?), mystical coffee house for others.
A mix of market sellers, unemployed and morning faces in need for coffee or beer.
Read your newspapers, observe or eat… my good days begin with the social spectacle of Union…
