COSMOPOLIS is related to the department of Geography at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a member of the UAB Urban Studies Network, an interdisciplinary research and teaching network in urban studies.

Neighbourhood Files

Neighborhood files are reports that deal with the demographic, socio-economic, ethnic and housing characteristics of Brussels' neighbourhoods, in relation with their specific spatial and historical context. COSMOPOLIS produces and updates these files on external demand, mostly for socio-cultural organisations.

The files cover each one of the 118 neighbourhoods in the Brussels Capital Region. The exact contents of each Neighbourhood File depends on the specific demands, but a standard file consist of
a large-scale map with the geographical localization of the neighbourhood, an analysis of the statistical data (demography, socio-economics, ethnicity and housing) of the neighbourhood and within a broader context a table with the statistical data where the analysis is based on.
