Koos has a background in Industrial Engineering – Land Surveying as well as Urbanism and Spatial Planning. He obtained his PhD at the University of Ghent in 2017. He currently work as a post-doctoral researcher at the Cosmopolis Centre for Urban Research at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. His research focuses on accessibility and its link to spatial planning and transport policy, with a primary focus on aspects of social exclusion and transport poverty.
