Caio Alves is a PhD researcher in Human Geography at the University of Sao Paulo and visiting researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Cosmopolis). His research project, titled “Pension funds and the financialization of the Brazilian territory: state, urban network and economic agents”, explores the command and control functions of the pension funds through their location and decision-making process in advanced producer services complexes. His current research continues his MSc in Human Geography, in which he studied the topology of investment banks in Brazil – emphasizing the centrality settled by the expansion of the metropolitan corporate complex of the city of Sao Paulo.
