As an architect and urban designer, Griet is interested in the role of spatial professionals in the transition towards more sustainable spatial and socio-economic systems. She conducts research on the structuring capacity of alternative energy systems: what will be the spatial impact of the transition towards sustainable energy infrastructure? She explores the potential of spatial design approaches to integrate technical knowledge about energy networks, interests of diverse actors related to energy infrastructure on different scales, and the local qualities of urban landscapes.
